SF 2391:

increases the penalty for simple possession of marijuana from a simple misdemeanor (six months in jail) to an aggravated misdemeanor (two years in prison), allows a police officer to administer a urine test to a motorist upon a "reasonable suspicion" that the motorist is operating under the influence of marijuana, and makes a metabolite of marijuana evidence of impairment for the purpose of obtaining a criminal conviction for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of marijuana.

Note: The vote was 96-3 in the Iowa House (only three Democrats opposed this bill: Dotzler, Fallon, and Ford), and 44-2 in the Iowa Senate (only two Republicans opposed this bill: Freeman and Rife).  This legislation is likely to be signed into law by the Governor.
