The Cold Spring Tavern Ride

but you had better be ready to slow down to 10-15 mph for dips in the road, for creek beds that tend to flow water across in varying amounts in the spring. The last one before Hwy.33 has the most water and just idling through is fast enough, because the bottom has moss growing in it, so be careful here. When you come up to Hwy.33 take a left and you are soon in for switchback turns and sweepers all the way past Wheeler Springs and then into the great little town of Ojai where you can get a fill up of gas. Out of Ojai you take Hwy.150 on over to Carpenteria to get on Hwy.101 and go north. Somewhere in the descent you may encounter fog and/or mist so take the appropriate precautions here. Hopefully you go at a time to miss commuter traffic. Continue on the 101 freeway and pass through Santa Barbara , unless you want lunch or gas before turning right on Hwy154 east, up to San Marcos pass and the Lake Cachuma area where the rally is held. Up to this point the trip is just like the "Cold Spring Tavern" ride which is coming soon to the web site(4---1), so be sure to check it out too. I must add here that I lost track of the club after this and I'm trying to figure where the next one will be in the spring of 2007. I need to check the different cycle mags calender sections and the original Rider mag add for a phone number.
